A Good Pair of Years

Two years ago today, I finished a two week cross-country road trip and officially moved to LA.

And then just this morning, the same car I drove out here in wouldn’t start and I had to get a last-minute battery replacement before heading into work a couple hours late.

So if this is any indication, you can imagine that completely moving your life to a completely different side of the country is never completely easy (car problems aside), but at the end of the day, it’s nice to think of this morning as the universe's friendly reminder of how lucky I am.

I’m lucky to have a job to go late into. I’m lucky to have a car that needs a battery replacement. And I’m most lucky to be living in a city I love where I get to be doing what I love with people I love no matter how difficult all that loving sometimes gets.

And speaking of people I love (or love to hate), a while back, my traitorous friend, Abdullah, gave me a film camera and my tremendous uncle, Dennis, gave me some lenses. So to celebrate two years’ worth of memories, moments, and meals that range from very good to very bad and very fun to very sad, I’m sharing photos taken on that camera and with those lenses of some of the people, places, and things that made these past two years a lot easier than they might’ve otherwise been.

I’ll let the photos speak for themselves, but while you’re still here, I want to send one more big, giant, and enormously elephant-sized thank you to everyone who has made these past two years so gosh dang special whether you’re in these pictures or not.

So thank YOU, @you.

And finally, thanks mom and dad for letting me move to a city where the ocean is only ten miles away which roughly translates to four hours in LA traffic.

ok ok ok i hope you enjoy :-)

And for the full album, you can aimlessly wander over here.
